Healthy Love (Acts Chapter 18)

The Apostle Paul went to the city named Corinth. It was there he met a married couple – Priscilla and Aquila.

Priscilla and Aquila worked together as tentmakers. They also had a church in their home and they taught their friends about the Good News of Jesus every week.

Priscilla and Aquila were strong together; they did everything together. They were equals. And they were an example of what healthy love looks like. Nobody in this house was bossy or controlling or rude. Instead, they shared their responsibilities and helped one another… like a real team!

When Priscilla and Aquila met the Apostle Paul, they invited him to stay in their home and to also work with them making tents. The Apostle Paul stayed with them for a year and a half – and they taught him many things.

After the Apostle Paul moved out, Priscilla and Aquila met another disciple named Apollos. Apollos was a gifted speaker, but he also still had a lot to learn about Jesus. So Priscilla and Aquila invited Apollos into their home and taught him everything they knew. How kind and generous they were! And willing to welcome others into their home.

They loved Jesus, they loved one another, and they loved people. Priscilla and Aquila are great examples of healthy Christian love.

Pray Together:

God, help us to love one another and to love others like Priscilla and Aquila did. We want to share and work together in everything. Help us grow in healthy love, Amen!
